Wonderland

Story:

A documentary focusing on three of the 17 themes of the SDGs (ocean plastic, climate change, andenergy), “Wonderland” picks up on the voices of people who are seeking a more prosperous and equitable society.

Chapter 1: Protecting the Sea from Plastic

Although the island is uninhabited, countless amounts of plastic waste are washed up on the Tomoga-shima island in Wakayama Prefecture. Camera follows local junior high school students who stood up in front of the polluted sea and their activities supported by major corporations

Chapter 2: Dealing with Climate Change

Shishmaref, the northernmost island of Alaska, is shaken by climate change. On this island, which is only 5 meters above sea level, people have lived mainly by hunting for 2,000 years. The traditions and food culture that have been passed down from generation to generation are now threatened by climate change. As we follow the changing landscapes and lifestyles of the island, we will highlight the important things that must not change.

Chapter 3: Clean Energy for All --Natural Energy

Children's voices echo in an amusement park in the countryside of Germany. In fact, this place used to be a nuclear power plant. After the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident in 1986, the Kalkar nuclear power plant was turned into an amusement park without ever being operated and now is one of the symbols of the energy transition that took place in Europe
